BARLBY HIGH SCHOOL IS PART OF

Pupil Premium, Year 7 and Covid Catch Up Funding

Information regarding Pupil Premium Funding at Barlby High School

The Pupil Premium is a government grant to schools for students who are in receipt of free school meals, who have been registered for free school meals within the last six years, or, who are looked after by the care system and children who have been adopted or whose parents or carers are serving in the Armed Forces. The Pupil Premium funding was introduced in April 2011.

Aims

  • To ensure that PP Funding is targeted and use effectively to address inequalities and close the disadvantage gap on attainment and progress of students entitled to PP
  • Raise the aspirations of PP students by providing entitlement to enrichment, learning and pastoral support.
  • To engage and inform parents and carers of the PP support their children are receiving
  • To ensure that all staff are aware of the barriers to success facing PP students and are equipped with the knowledge and skills to help students overcome the barriers.

Year 7 Catch-up Funding

The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives schools additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in English or Maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2). The expected standard is a standardized score of 100 or more in the KS2 tests at the end of Primary School.

If you have any queries, please direct these to Mrs K Wallace, Vice Principal: Curriculum and Achievement

Covid Catch-up Funding

The government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up lost time after school closure. This is especially important for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds.

School allocations will be calculated on a per pupil basis.
